چکیده
Access control devices and systems comprise an important part of every security system. Even the simplest single-door access control system includes at least an electric strike to automatically unlock the door, a timer to make sure that the door does not stay open all day, and a bell or light to indicate when the door is opened or that it has not reclosed properly. In a large-scale security system there may be intrusion alarms, exit alarms, closed-circuit surveillance, guards and patrols, physical barriers and turnstiles, and a variety of other devices and systems. The combined advantages of these elements constitute an effective physical security system. Various access control systems and devices are now available whose combined advantages constitute an effective physical security system. This article discusses these systems and devices and assists the data security administrator in determining the expenditure required to address the company's level of risk.

Performance Analysis of Slotted IEEE 802.15.4 Medium Access Layer
IEEE 802.15.4 is a standard for the medium access control (MAC) and physical layer protocols of wireless networks. This paper provides one of the first analytical evaluations of its MAC protocol for the slotted channel access mechanism in a star topology network. The form of the analysis is similar to that of Bianchi for IEEE 802.11 DCF. The key difference is in the main approximation assumptio...
متن کاملH-Index Is Important for Postural Control for People with Impaired Foot Sole Sensation
INTRODUCTION People with Peripheral Neuropathy (PN), especially those with impaired sensory inputs through the small-afferent fiber (type II afferent fibers) reflex loop (SAF), might depend more on the large-afferent fiber (type I afferent fibers) reflex loop (LAF) for postural control. PURPOSE To examine whether the function of the LAF reflex loop, reflected by the H-reflex and ankle joint p...
متن کاملUse of insecticide-impregnated ear tags for the control of face flies and horn-flies on pastured cattle.
Three studies were conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of insecticide-impregnated ear tags in controlling face flies, Musca autumnalis DeGeer, and horn flies, Haematobia irritans (Linn.), on pastured beef cattle. In one 16-week trial, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) ear tags treated with stirofos (Rabon) insecticide reduced horn fly numbers by 79% (P less than .05) and face fly numbers by 30% (P l...
متن کاملDog ownership, functional ability, and walking in community-dwelling older adults.
BACKGROUND Regular walking improves overall health and functional ability of older adults, yet most are sedentary. Dog ownership/pet responsibility may increase walking in older adults. Goals of this study were to identify factors that influence older adult walking and compare physical activity, functional ability and psychosocial characteristics by dog ownership status. METHODS In this cross...
متن کاملA model for specification, composition and verification of access control policies and its application to web services
Despite significant advances in the access control domain, requirements of new computational environments like web services still raise new challenges. Lack of appropriate method for specification of access control policies (ACPs), composition, verification and analysis of them have all made the access control in the composition of web services a complicated problem. In this paper, a new indepe...
